Modular Climbing Frames
Client: Wickey, Germany
Climbing frames designed for families with children. Developed for and with the Wickey development team.
In this project, I helped out defining and modeling parts and modules. Later, I created the CAD files of complete products that are built up of these different parts and modules.
We created over 10 different product. This project is related to
this outdoor fitness equipment project, in which we developed products that are more suitable for older children and adults.
One of the parts I developed with the team was a basketball backboard. We made it so it can be used as a module that can be attached to the climbing frames in various ways. We developed and evaluated multiple versions, for which I supplied the CAD files, so we were able to compare and choose the best version to use in the final products.
The product series is intended for private use and developed in accordance with the DIN EN 71 norms for safety of toys for domestic use.
Other products designed with Wickey are developed to comply with the EN 1776 norms for public playground equipment, for example these animal spring rockers.
The products are designed for manufacturing at the in-house production facilities of my client.
